YC Onion Slider | Chips | Bluetooth | Smooth

For some time now I looked for motion controlled slider , to do more motion lapse, and motion controlled videos… and I bumped in to YC-Onion IG post and they got slider called “chips” in few different lengths … I got chance to test out one . it is 37cm version which is the shortest slider but functions are sam across all length, (37cm,50cm,73cm,100cm,120cm).

Slider:

Slider comes with carry case, nice alloy made adjustable legs,3/8to1/4 adapter and camera remote shutter cables (for pro canon,lumix,sony and entry canon cameras) also it comes with USB to barrel adapter so you can power up slider via usb power bank. otherwise it runs of sony NP-FW50 (sony a6500,6300,600 uses the same) .connectors are on back of the slider only two one for 50mm barrel power in and second for camera remote shutter cable. once you power up the slider no matter if via usb or battery the red LED will start blinking(located on top of the slider just between the gear belt next to the YC sticker. and it will turn to still red once connected to phone via bluetooth.

the APP you want to use for controlling the slider is : ” e-slider eng ” it has all what you need for video or motion lapse shooting.

APP:

my steps in app are : on first page from left set A and B positions you want to use , and jump on video or time-lapse page .

for video you can set loop and speed – the speed will change according on weight of setup and angle of slider( heavier cameras will stop moving before 0% speed and also if camera go uphill it will go slower than opposite way.

as the slider comes without head it comes only with 3/8 thread and 3/8 to 1/4 adapter – you can mount camera on but you will be not able to set angles …. thats why you will need photography ball head to set angles and levels you wish. I got one at home so mounted that and went shooting testing. bellow you can see motion lapse ( 4kvideo and 6k raw video with sony a6500) .
