I have been using Sony RX100V for some time now and it is one amazing camera with lots of powerful features but it has some flaws, luckily the YC-Onion Cage for Sony RX100 fixes almost all of them .
This great cage is made for us professionals ! It features so many new options to this beast of the camera …lets start with grip , my hands are big and I had hard time to hold the small body of sony rx100 – this cage has nice wooden grip which gives me confidence to hold and carry the camera without worrying about it. Next one is big … the 1/4-20 screw hole on camera is such close to the battery door that once you screw on tripod plate or even small tripod like Manfrootto PIXI you are not able to open battery door without unscrewing tripod. The YC-Onion cage is mounted the way that battery door is fully accessible and my tripod mount can be mounted on end or even side as this cage has 1/4-20 threaded holes around . Lastly the weight … SONY RX100 cameras are such a lightweight that when you shooting some handheld videos it show up, also in mentioned lack of grip it wast greatest for this. YC-Onion cage can extend on left side and provide another grip point . Now is time for that crispy 4K .
O and I forgot about YC Coin ! YC Coin is part of the cage …it is tool for tightening camera screws , YC Coin is magnetically attached on bottom of the cage so it is always with you when you needed, such a clever idea!
